Before gourmand fragrances were trendy, this one invented the category. Inspired by Thierry Mugler’s A*Men, composed by Jacques Huclier and crowned Fragrance of the Year in 1998, Amen opens sharp and metallic, lavender, mint, bergamot, and green notes cutting through the air like nothing else on the shelf. Then it drops into its real identity: a rich, dark patchouli wrapped in caramel, honey, milk, and coffee, before settling into a base of vanilla, tonka bean, amber, and musk. It is dessert built on top of earth, sweet and grounded at once.
