A 2025 release from Louis Vuitton’s Les Extraits Collection, composed by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Fantasmagory is built around a single note taken to its extreme, vanilla, sourced here as Tahitensis vanilla from Papua New Guinea. It opens with a dazzling contrast of anise and ginger, moves into a gourmand almond heart reminiscent of amaretto softened by diffuse florals, and settles into a luminous, ultra-concentrated vanilla base with a subtle leather facet. The house frames it as vanilla reimagined through movement and light, sophisticated rather than simply sweet. The bottle itself, a sculptural vessel conceived by architect Frank Gehry, mirrors that airy, radiant quality.
